The Prime Minister attached importance to the implemented activities and the upcoming programmes and emphasised the need for substantive changes in the judicial and legal sector for ensuring quality justice — The Judicial Reforms Monitoring Council held its first session.
Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Monitoring Council for Implementation of the 2022-2026 Strategy for Judicial and Legal Reforms and the Action Plan arising from the Strategy held a session in Government.
Reporting on the activities implemented following the previous session held in December of last year, Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan touched upon the expansion of reforms in the judicial system, the introduction of the tool for checking the integrity of those who are appointed as judges in all instances, the legislative packages developed, as well as the activities aimed at improving the building conditions of courts. Details about the e-justice.am platform for electronic justice, the provision of services through the e-court platform for electronic court, the modernisation of the e-draft platform and the operation of the electronic mediator system were provided during the session.
It was reported that the Arbitration and Mediation Centre was established in May and that an advisory committee comprising international specialists has been set up.
Electoral reforms, transitional justice, civil law reforms and the development of a new Administrative Code were touched upon.
It was mentioned that the performance evaluation for the first semester under the Action Plan arising from the Strategy comprised 93%.
