Expertise Centre to apply the international methods of UNODC
On the initiative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and with the participation of Director of the “Expertise Centre of the Republic of Armenia” State Non-Commercial Organisation Davit Ghulyan, as well as UN Representative to Armenia Arsen Mkrtchyan, a meeting in the format of video conference was held within the scope of detection of narcotic drugs and psychoactive substances, as well as within the framework of the UNODC International Collaborative Exercises (ICE) programme. During the meeting, the officers-in-charge of the UNODC Laboratory and Scientific Services Section presented in detail the programme updates, the new methods developed and the information on new narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances that they have come across in their practice. During the meeting, the parties discussed important issues related to new opportunities for co-operation, joint discussions, exchange of experience and visits. From now on, the Biological and Narcotics Criminology Division of the Centre will start conducting expert examinations by also using the latest methods and literature that the UNODC provided during the conference.
