Varnish paints and paint coatings forensic analysis

Objects of analysis

- varnish paint coatings of painted objects and particles (traces) of paint coatings disintegrated from them,
- particular volumes of paint coating materials and varnish paints, special paint materials (chemical filters),
- components of paint materials,
- articles and objects in touch with paint surface and traces and particles of paint coating occurring as result of interaction,
- equipments for varnish paint production (preparation),
- tools for carrying out work with paint materials.

Tasks of analysis

   

- Detection of particles (traces) of paint coating or paint material,
- determination of chemical nature, composition, type, significance, structural properties and spheres of application,
- identification of painted objects through investigation of traces of paint materials,
- ascertainment of the fact of interaction (contact) of objects by traces,
- determination and identification of belonging to a certain class, group, determination of the source of origin,
- ascertainment of the fact of repaint of objects.

Forensic analysis of oil products and lubricating oils

 

Objects of analysis

   

- Fuel lube oil materials, including refined products of coal tar and shale (bituminous) and traces thereof,
- components of petrochemical nature within the composition of flammable liquids, solvents and other objects.

Tasks of analysis
   

- Detection of traces of oil products and fuel lube oil materials,
- determination of belonging of the material to oil products and fuel lube oil materials,
- determination of types of oil products and fuel lube oil materials,
- determination or identification of belonging to a certain class and group,
- determination of the nature of oil products and fuel lube oil materials and reasons for their modification.

Forensic analysis of alcohol-containing liquids

 

Objects of analysis

- Alcohol-containing liquids manufactured in factories (types of vodka and special types of vodka, brandies, grape, fruit and berry wines, various types of liqueur and vodka products),
- homemade alcohol-containing liquids (home brewed vodka, homemade beer, grape brandy, homemade vodka),
- objects carrying residues of alcohol-containing liquids,
- equipments (factory and homemade) meant for (used for) manufacturing of alcohol-containing liquids (alcohol, wines, other alcoholic beverages).

Tasks of analysis

   

- Determination of liquid's nature, differentiation of alcoholic beverages, their classification by type and stamp,
- determination of conformity (non-conformity) with GOST or technical specifications,
- determination of manufacturing technology,
- determination of raw materials for and method of manufacturing of alcohol-containing liquids.

Forensic analysis of glass and glass made articles

 

Objects of analysis

- Glass (phototechnical, plate glass, container, household glass) and glassware, fragments (traces) thereof.

Tasks of analysis

   

- Identification of a specific glassware article,
- determination of belonging of pieces or fragments to the whole (item),
- determination or identification of the object (item) or its ingredients to a certain class and group,
- detection of fragments of glass-like material in the investigated object and determination of their nature,
- determination of belonging to a certain class or group,
- determination of the trajectory of crushing and reasons of object's crushing (physical, thermic, etc.),
- determination of conditions of use of an object (item).

Analysis of minerals, natural and precious stones

 

Objects of analysis

- Minerals,
- natural precious and semi-precious crystals and processed stones,
- artificial (cultivated) stones similar to real ones, as well as imitation stones,
- articles of gold and jewellery made the mentioned stones.

Tasks of analysis

   

- Determination of physical properties of objects to be analysed (hardness, density, optical properties, etc.),
- detection of defects in crystals and stones (cracks, inclusions, etc.),
- ascertainment of qualitative properties of processed stones,
- classification of stones (by types),
- differentiation between real and artificial (cultivated) stones and their imitations.

Forensic analysis of plastics, rubbers and objects and items made of them.

- Plastics, rubber, polymers and objects and items made of them.

- Identification of a searched object by parts of the whole or the nature of a material,
- clarification of the source of origin,
- clarification of object's properties, nature and reasons of their modification.

Forensic analysis of metals, alloys and objects and items made of them

 

Objects of analysis

- Metals and alloys,
- objects and items made of metals and alloys (including parts of vehicles, wires of lamps of motor vehicles, etc.),
- objects with traces of metals and alloys.

Tasks of analysis

   

- Detection of particles and traces of metal, determination of properties, type of metal and traces of metal compounds,
- determination of qualitative and quantitative chemical composition of metal items,
- comparative analysis of items of metals and alloys, determination or identification of belonging to a certain class and group,
- identification of general production source of metal objects to be compared,
- ascertainment of the fact of interaction with metal objects.
